I enjoy building PCs and figuring out what's wrong when a computer isn't working the way it should. I started Maxtech because I wanted to offer a more affordable and personal alternative to a traditional repair shop. When you book with Maxtech, you're dealing directly with the person actually working on your computer.
I started out working with gaming PCs and helping people troubleshoot real problems — RAM that wouldn't run at its rated speed, systems that powered on but gave no display, BIOS settings quietly causing instability, Windows installs that had gone sideways, driver conflicts, and plenty of hardware that simply needed replacing.
After doing that often enough, a pattern showed up. A lot of people didn't want the traditional repair shop experience. They didn't want to unplug a full desktop, drive it somewhere, hand it to someone at a counter, and wait several days to hear back from a person who never touched the machine. They wanted someone local who understands PCs, charges straightforward prices, and is easy to get hold of.
After moving to the Bay Area, I decided to turn that experience into my own local PC building and repair service.
Why Maxtech stays small
Maxtech is intentionally small. There's no service department, no queue, no ticket being passed between people. You talk to me, I do the work, and if something needs explaining, I explain it — including when the honest answer is that a part isn't worth replacing, or that the problem is simpler than you feared.
That's also why the pricing is published. A $99 air-cooled build is $99. Diagnostic labor is $20, and a mobile visit is $20, for a typical $40 on-site total. If I open a system and find the job is bigger than what was booked, you get a call and a number before anything else happens.
What I work on
Desktop and gaming PCs — custom builds, upgrades, diagnostics and repair, including many prebuilt gaming desktops. Complete builds include three months of free labor support, because a build isn't really finished the moment it powers on.
