The questions that come up most often, answered plainly. If yours isn't here, call or text (626) 263-0444.

Most standard builds take approximately two hours of hands-on assembly time, although complex systems may take longer. Adding the Ready-to-Play setup — Windows, drivers, BIOS and hardware testing — adds time on top of that.

Same-day service is available when scheduling allows. Open windows are listed on the booking page.

No. Customers who need help selecting parts can use the free PC consultation form. Tell me the budget and what the PC is for, and I'll put a list together before you spend anything.

Yes. Compatibility can be reviewed before the customer places the order — socket and chipset, memory support, power supply headroom, cooler clearance and case fit. There's no charge for this.

Yes. Windows installation, drivers, BIOS setup and system testing are available as a $30 Ready-to-Play add-on on a complete build. On an existing PC, Windows setup can be booked as a repair or setup appointment.

A Windows license is not included in the Ready-to-Play setup or in any build price. The $30 covers the installation and configuration work.

If you already own a license or key, bring it and I'll use it during setup. If you need to buy one, I can point you to where to get it — you purchase it directly.

Complete PC builds include three months of free labor support from the original service date. Individual repair services do not include the same 3-month build support, though I stand behind the workmanship on the specific repair performed.

The details are in the warranty policy.

Maxtech can help diagnose the failed component. Parts remain subject to the retailer or manufacturer warranty unless the part was specifically sold by Maxtech under separate terms.

In practice that means I'll identify what failed and help you understand the RMA process, but the replacement itself comes from whoever sold you the part.

Yes. Mobile service is available throughout the local service area — Fremont, Newark, Union City, Milpitas, San Jose, Santa Clara and the surrounding Bay Area. For most jobs the PC never has to leave your home.

There is a flat $20 on-site service fee for diagnostics, repairs and upgrades. It is the same amount anywhere in the service area — not calculated by distance, so there is nothing to work out in advance.

Custom PC builds include the visit at no extra charge within 25 miles. Beyond that, get in touch first and we will agree anything extra before booking. Either way the amount is shown before you confirm, never added at the end.

Maxtech focuses on desktop PCs and gaming computers. Laptop repair is not part of the current service list, so if that's what you need, you'll be better served somewhere that specializes in it.

Yes. Diagnostics, upgrades and component replacement can be performed on many prebuilt desktop gaming PCs. A few use proprietary parts or layouts that limit what can be swapped — if that's the case with yours, I'll tell you before you spend anything.

Complex custom-loop systems require individual approval and pricing. The standard build prices cover air coolers and AIO liquid coolers. Send me the details and I'll tell you whether it's something I'll take on and what it would cost.

Cash, Zelle, Venmo and card. Payment is due when the service is complete unless we agree something else beforehand.

You get a call with what I found and what it would cost before any additional work happens. No extra work is performed without customer approval, and you're free to say no.

Generally you buy your own components — Maxtech does not mark up parts. If a part is supplied by Maxtech in a specific case, that gets agreed in writing beforehand along with what warranty applies to it.
